Alfonso Fiorelli, MD, PhD

Dr. Fiorelli is Assistant Professor of Thoracic Surgery at Second University of Naples, Department of Cardio-Thoracic Disease, Naples, Italy. His main research interests include basic research on lung cancer, interventional bronchoscopy with particular regard for management of emphysema and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Fiorelli was born on 5th October 1974. He graduated with honors in Naples from Second University of Naples Medical School in 1998. He obtained with honor the certificate in Thoracic Surgery in 2003. In 2006, he obtained his PhD in Respiratory Physiology and Pharmacology from Second University of Naples. In 2013, he obtained the National Scientific Habilitation for Associate Professor. In 2015, he graduated in Pharmacy from Second University of Naples.   

Dr. Fiorelli is author or coauthor of 99 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is a reviewer for several journals and sits on several editorial Boards. He is Member of several national and international societies in the field of Thoracic Surgery. He was awarded several national and international prizes for his research in lung cancer and emphysema.
